David Sharp is a writer and performer living in Granada Hills with his loving partner, feral child, and elderly cats. He’s written for a variety of websites you’ve never heard of and appeared on shows you’ve never seen.

Our weekly adult drop-in classes are for anyone!  These evenings are meant to provide opportunity to explore different improv games and experiment with long and short form formats. First drop-in is free.

Sketch Writing Workshop 

 

Free Range Comedy is offering a Sketch Writing Workshop taught by David Sharp, comedian, improviser, and comedy writer! Classes are Friday nights, 7 - 9 PM starting January 31 (no class Feb. 14) and ending March 6, with a Sketch Night Showcase on Saturday, March 7! Come and try your hand at sketch writing with a group of funny people and learn the craft from the ground up!  Only $125 for this great 5 week workshop!

Music Improv Workshop 

If you’ve always wondered how they improvise the songs on “Whose Line Is It
Anyway”, then join “Whose Line” musical director Laura Hall, and veteran Second
City improviser Rick Hall, for this fun, lively workshop.
Laura and Rick have led music improv workshops all over the world, creating a
supportive, playful environment with lots of opportunities for participants to try
out this exciting form of improv.
Even if you've never done music improv before, Rick and Laura will guide you with
fun games and exercises. You'll be belting out your own improvised songs before
you know it!

Laura Hall is best known as the improvisational pianist and Musical Director on the hit TV show, “Whose Line is it Anyway”, which ran for nine years on ABC, with Drew Carey hosting. The show is currently in its sixth season on the CW Network, with Aisha Tyler hosting. 

Rick Hall was a founding member of Chicago’s Improv Institute. On The Second City main stage, he created and performed in two shows, “John Paul Sartre & Ringo” and “Catch 27”. He improvises regularly with Immediate Theater at The Fanatic Salon in L.A.
